Q: “Why Should I Choose You, Sheldon, to Manage My Google Adwords Campaign?”

  • Because I first qualified as a Google Adwords Professional IndividualĀ in September 2006, so I’ve been doing this for 7 years
  • Because I have generated a total of 40,000 extra visits for clients since September 2006 (about $40,000 worth)
  • Because I learnt from the Google Adwords guru Perry Marshall
  • Because I aim for a Cost-per-Click of about $1, but many of my campaigns do much better
  • Because my goal is to generate $5 of business for you for every $1 you spend (for example)

Q: “What’s involved?”

We would start with a meeting to discuss the following:

  • The suitability of your website for a Google Adwords campaign (does it have quality landing pages, call to action, easy to navigate?)
  • My fees for setting up your account (eg $360), and managing it for the first 3 months (eg $360/month)
  • Your initial daily budget (You can start with as little as $12/day)

Then:

  1. I set up a Google Adwords account for you
  2. I will call you for your credit card details, which I provide to Google so you pay for the ads you run
  3. I apply a NZ$90 voucher to your account to get you started
  4. I provide you with advice for your landing page
  5. I start creating ads for you
  6. I send you regular progress reports to keep track of your Return-On-Investment
  7. If it’s working well for you, we scale up the campaign by increasing your daily budget

Q: “What is essential for success?”

  • Writing ads with clear benefits and a compelling call-to-action
  • Placing your ads in the “sweet-spot” between position 3 and 4
  • Choosing landing pages that deliver what is promised in the advertisement and that convert visitors into customers
  • Close monitoring of the campaign to minimise Cost-Per-Click and maximise Return-on-Investment
  • When you start earning $5 for every $1 you spend (for example), you scale up your campaign (in fact you don’t even need a budget because you know exactly what your ROI is)

For it to work, you and I need to commit to a 3 month term.

My goals are:

  • To ensure that your Adwords account is on auto-pilot by the time the 3 months is up
  • To get your account running so efficiently that you don’t need me any more
  • To give you the option of learning how it works so you can control it yourself with minimal effort

After the 3 months is up, you have 2 choices:

  1. If you don’t think I did a good job at the end of the 3 month trial period you can fire me and I’ll refund you the initial set-up fee $360 as an apology
  2. Get me to keep an eye on your account for you for just $240/month to make sure it’s running smoothly

Q: “How many extra web visitors can I expect during the 3 month period?”

Approximately 913 (based on an average Cost-Per-Click of $1 and an Adwords budget of $10/day for 3 months)

How many of those can you convert into customers?

  • 1%? If so, you could make 9 sales
  • 10%? If so, you could make 91 sales

You’ll pay $1440 to Sheldon in fees + $1080 to Google for your ads as per the following 3-month-term example:

  • Fees for Month #1:
    • + $360 Initial set-up fee
    • + $360 Management fee
    • + $360 for Google
    • - minus your $90 voucher
  • Fees for Month #2:
    • + $360 Management fee
    • + $360 for Google
  • Fees for Month #3:
    • + $360 Management fee
    • + $360 for Google
  • Total Costs: $1440 for Sheldon + $1080 for Google
