Not long ago I had Google Adwords described to me like this:
Let’s pretend for a moment that you sell new TV’s.
Think of Google Adwords as a magical highway that only lets people on the road who need a TV.
Well, I can sell you the billboards all along that highway, but I won’t charge you for impressions (the traffic passing by), I’ll only charge you for clicks by people who want to see what you have to offer…
Pretty cool huh?

I’m a newbie and have just found your site. Can’t thank you enough for all the good (and free!) tips. I had started a Facebook Ad campaign, and got lots of Likes…but maybe Google Adwords would be more effective. What do you think?
Hi Kate. That would be dependant on two things: 1) the number of competitors you have, 2) and how many searches the public does every day for what you sell. If your answers are: “None” (or “Low”), and “Lots” then you are on to a winner. Having said that, I’d exhaust your options for optimising for free traffic from Google first.
